If you’re like most homeowners then you probably don’t spend a lot of time worrying about the condition of your water heater. However, there are some problems that you should keep an eye and ear out for that signal that your water heater needs to be replaced. Here are a few of them. Don’t hesitate to call us here at Lovotti Air if you’re having any problems with your system. We can talk with you about whether or not replacement is a good idea or if repairs are sufficient for now. You can expect outstanding service when you call a member of our team to replace a water heater.
- Rust – Water and metal don’t mix. There needs to be something to protect your water heater from rust. Inside your water heater is something called an anode rod (also called a sacrificial rod). This rod absorbs all of the small electrical currents in the water so that they don’t cause rust in your water heater. But if the rod isn’t replaced once it’s completely gone, the inside of your water heater will start to rust. When that happens, repair is usually out of the question and replacement is required.
- Frequent repair – If your water heater starts to break down all the time, it might make a lot of financial sense to just replace it instead of repairing it.
- Inefficiency – Your water heater is already one of the largest consumers of energy in your home. If you see unexplained increases in your energy bill, it might time to have your water heater looked at and possibly replaced.
- Not enough hot water – Are you running out of hot water in the middle of your shower? It could be that your water heater is too small. Obviously, there’s no repair that our Stockton water heater replacement technicians can perform to fix this issue and replacing your water heater is likely what needs to happen.
